STL athletes, coaches, and parents celebrated all the successes of 2015 at our annual awards banquet. We congratulate all the 2015 award winners:

Congratulations once again to all our 2015 Award winners as we now turn our focus to the upcoming 2016 competition year.

Athletics Ontario BMJ Indoor Championships, Toronto, ON - March 7/8, 2015

St. Thomas Legion athletes collected 10 medals and set seven new club records at the Athletics Ontario BMJ indoor championships held March 7, 8 at the Toronto Track & Field Centre.

Along with the five gold medals, three silvers and two bronzes, the seven individuals and one relay team established 13 new marks when including new personal-best performances.

Bantam

Leading the way was bantam Kenzie Smyth, who collected gold in the 60-metre hurdles, high jump and long jump, along with silver in the 150 metres. Smyth set new standards in each of her events, with a personal best (PB) and club record (CR) in both the long jump (4.39 metres) and the 150 (21.43 seconds), a PB in the 60-m H (10.62 sec) and a new CR in the high jump (1.36 m).

A.J. Stanat set a new PB and CR in the bantam shot put with his toss of 8.18 mtres to place fourth.

The duo pushed St. Thomas into third place in the overall bantam team standings.

Midget

In the midget boys class, Tanner Smyth took gold in the high jump (1.65 m), silver in the 60-m hurdles (9.37 sec) and was seventh in the 300 metres with a PB and CR of 40.37 seconds.

Hayden Bell claimed silver in the high jump (1.65 m) and was fourth in the long jump (5.32 m).

Rounding out the midgets was Abe Granilo whose 10.16-metre throw won him the bronze medal in shot put.

Junior

Noah Rolph captured the gold medal in the junior weight throw at 19.36 metres, and the bronze in shot put at 14.82 metres.

Competing up a class in junior, first-year youth Cole Barnes was ninth in the 200 metres in a PB and CR time of 23.38 seconds. Barnes was also part of the 4x400m youth relay team, along with Greg Spangenberg, Tanner Smyth and Jarret Manning, that placed fourth with a CR time of 3:43.76 minutes.
